About AEE INTEC |
The “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Erneuerbare Energie“ (AEE) was founded in 1988 in Gleisdorf, Austria as a non-profit association to support the meaningful application of renewable energy sources and the rational and sustainable usage of energy. The AEE is today the umbrella organisation of 5 independent offices and institutes which are located in Villach, Vienna, Feldkirch, Jenbach and Gleisdorf.
The AEE – Institute for Sustainable Technologies (AEE INTEC) located in Gleisdorf and is active in the development of scientific and technical basics for solar thermal applications, with the development of efficient energy supply systems for buildings as well as the development of sustainable technologies for water supply and sewage disposal.
The pillars of these topics are the work on prototype development and the implementation of pilot projects. The institute provides beyond this their know-how and carriers out planning and consultation.

One main activity is the publishing of the magazine "erneuerbare energie", which is published for the umbrella organisation AEE. Each edition comprehensively deals with a main subject and thereby gives a wide overview of the state of the art of the application, operation experiences and new developments.
During the last 10 years has AEE INTEC considerably contributed to the development of solar thermal system and its components in the framework of the national, European and international research projects.
Contractors for these projects are counties, federal ministries, the European Commission, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation as well as the industry and business establishments
Further are the employees of AEE INTEC active in the framework of "Solar Heating and Cooling Program", the "SolarPaces Program" and in the “ECBCS Program“ for the International Energy Agency (IEA) as well as in the technical committee of the Austrian standardisation institute 173.
One main part of the work of AEE INTEC contains consultations of building owners, domestic technicians, architects, building associations and communities for the realisation of projects. Studies, with technical and financial analyses are carried out for decision support for these projects.
